The confirmed 1992–1997 Spring 50 factory run. A 50 cc single-cylinder two-stroke with five gears, 17-inch wheels, front and rear disc brakes, 80 kg dry weight and a 10-litre tank; check cooling hardware and engine code for correct parts matching.
The Benelli Spring 50 is a distinct geared 50 cc sports moped from 1992–1997. It is not an automatic Benelli scooter: the Spring has 17-inch wheels, front and rear disc brakes, five gears and a 50 cc single-cylinder two-stroke. That places it technically closer to a small sports motorcycle than to the S 50, City Bike, K2, Pepe or 491. Parts sources link the Spring to the liquid-cooled Minarelli DL3 engine family; confirm engine code and cooling hardware on the individual machine.
For buyers, the Spring is chiefly a light classic sports moped where condition and originality matter greatly. Its 10-litre tank, low mass and 17-inch chassis make it very different from a city scooter, although modern braking, tyre and traffic expectations remain unrealistic. A proper test ride should show clean cold starting, a smooth five-speed gearbox, calm clutch operation and stable temperature. Before buying, verify frame number, displacement and homologation; Devil 50, Spring and other Minarelli parts are often advertised as more interchangeable than they actually are.
