Years
1985 - 1993
The sole confirmed S 125 factory version from 1985–1993. An air-cooled 125 cc single-cylinder two-stroke with kick start, four gears, belt final drive, 10-inch wheels and drum brakes; check engine code and gear operation to avoid confusing it with the S 50.
The Benelli S 125 is the larger, distinct 125 cc version of Benelli's 1980s S scooter platform. It shares the compact small-wheel basis with the S 50, but is emphatically not a 50 cc moped scooter: the S 125 uses an air-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke, kick start and a four-speed manual gearbox with belt final drive. Market data places the S 125 in 1985–1993, while type-approval data confirms the 124.8 cc scooter construction.
For enthusiasts, it is a light, unusual classic scooter best suited to calm riding and good maintenance. Its 10-inch wheels and drum brakes do not match modern traffic expectations, while the manual drivetrain is a meaningful difference from an automatic. Buy on originality and mechanical condition: check frame number, engine code and gear operation, as S 50, S 125 and other old Benelli parts are sometimes advertised online as more interchangeable than they really are.
