Years
2012 - 2015
The four-stroke Pepe 50 offered from 2012 alongside the two-stroke and retained for the 2015 range. This is the key technical split within late Pepes: follow four-stroke service requirements and do not confuse it with a 2T from bodywork or year alone.
Years
2010 - 2014
The refreshed Pepe 50 two-stroke from 2010, replacing the earlier LX. It ran alongside the Classic; identify it by later bodywork and verify the year, as the Classic intentionally retained the older appearance.
Years
2007 - 2014
The 2007–2014 Pepe 50 Classic: the pre-first-facelift bodywork returned to production and was sold alongside newer 2T Pepes. It is a factory trim within the Pepe family, not a City Bike or an aftermarket retro conversion.
Years
2006 - 2009
The Pepe 50 two-stroke relaunched after 2005, Euro 2 homologated in the period range. It is not an early 1998 Pepe: check year, bodywork and emissions marking before ordering 2T parts.
Years
2001 - 2003
The first 2001–2003 LX facelift, with revised plastics and a more elegant finish. The 50 cc remains a single-cylinder two-stroke with CVT; 81 kg dry weight, 740 mm seat height and a 7.5-litre tank are useful references for this LX.
Years
1998 - 2002
The catalysed Pepe 50 Kat, offered from 1998 through 2002. It is an early two-stroke Pepe with emissions equipment; check that the exhaust and associated setup remain correct and complete.
Years
1998 - 2001
The original 1998–2001 50 cc Pepe: air-cooled Minarelli two-stroke, 16-inch wheels and the first rounded two-tone bodywork. Some markets received two-seat homologation; check the seat and passenger footrests on the individual scooter.
The Benelli Pepe is a distinct high-wheel scooter series that began as a 50 cc two-stroke in 1998 and continued in several 50 cc forms until 2015. It is not a K2 or 491: the Pepe is identified by its 16-inch wheels, round headlamp set into the front shield and simple town-focused layout. The first 50 used an air-cooled Minarelli two-stroke, followed by Kat, restyled LX, post-2005 restart, Classic and, from 2012, a four-stroke. This profile covers only the 50 cc family, not the separate 100 or 125 cc versions.
The Pepe suits riders seeking a lightweight city scooter with larger wheels. Choosing the right generation matters for maintenance: a 2T needs oil metering and carburation care, while the 4T needs documented oil and valve service. Always check the type plate, year, engine type and trim; adverts use base, Kat, LX, Classic and sometimes Renault naming inconsistently. At inspection, the CVT, brakes, 16-inch tyres, steering head and plastic fixings deserve at least as much attention as the odometer.
