1975–1978 748 inline six
GenerationThe original 750 Sei uses the 748 cc air-cooled inline six with six carburettors. It is its own Benelli family; do not match it as a 900 Sei or an arbitrary four-cylinder Benelli.
About the Benelli 750 Sei
The Benelli 750 Sei is the striking Italian six-cylinder introduced by Benelli in the mid-1970s. Its 748 cc air-cooled inline six with six carburettors made it exceptional in its day; it is a classic touring/sport motorcycle, not a modern superbike. The 750 Sei was produced in 1975–1978, before the larger 900 Sei.
Buy a good Sei on completeness and maintenance. Six carburettors, six exhaust headers and a complex electrical system make a partial restoration expensive very quickly. Check cold starting, even running, oil and charging performance, and whether frame, engine and exhaust belong together. An original, well-documented machine matters more than a cosmetically attractive motorcycle with missing six-cylinder parts.

What to check before buying
- Check that all six carburettors respond evenly and ask for synchronisation and rebuild history.
- Inspect exhaust headers, cylinder head and crankcases for corrosion, leaks and missing six-cylinder parts.
- Test alternator, regulator, battery and lighting; charging faults are costly on a complex classic.
- Check cam drive, valve clearance and oil pressure with documented specialist maintenance.
- Compare frame and engine numbers with documentation and do not confuse the 750 with a 900 Sei.
