Years
1979 - 1981
The original red 504 Sport with 499 cc inline-four, small fairing and integral three-disc brakes. A rare sport-touring variant, technically related to but not the same as the 500 LS.
The Benelli 504 Sport is the later, sportier 500 four from the De Tomaso era. It arrived in 1979 as the red counterpart to the 354 Sport, combining the 499 cc air-cooled inline-four with a small fairing, revised riding position and Moto Guzzi-derived integral three-disc brakes. It is neither a 500 Quattro nor merely a 500 LS: the 504 Sport is a distinct sport-touring version with its own parts and identifying features.
This profile deliberately limits production to 1979–1981, the period stated by Benelli-club documentation for the 504 Sport. On a candidate, check the originality of the small fairing, instruments, brake system and red finish. A correct 504 Sport is a rare Italian classic; braking, four-carburettor adjustment and chassis condition matter more at inspection than mileage or paint alone.
