About the Benelli 125 Jarno
The Benelli 125 Jarno is the sporting 125 Benelli introduced in late 1987/1988 in tribute to Jarno Saarinen. It uses a 123cc two-stroke single with reed induction, an electronic BPS exhaust valve and a 28mm Dell'Orto carburettor. Jarno differs from the older 125 2C through its single cylinder, full sport fairing and modern brakes; it was among the early 125s with three disc brakes.
This is a light, high-revving classic sport 125 for a rider seeking the historic two-stroke experience. Dutch registration data indicates around 20 kW and 136 kg, but check an individual bike for original restriction, exhaust and market specification. A careful test ride should show clean cold starting and consistent exhaust-valve operation.

What to check before buying
- Check cold starting, compression, crank seals and piston/cylinder history; a fast 125 two-stroke is sensitive to poor lubrication.
- Test BPS exhaust valve and servo through the rev range; erratic delivery points to contamination, cable or electrical issues.
- Check Dell'Orto carburettor, intake rubbers and oil pump/lines for leaks and correct set-up.
- Inspect all three discs, calipers and lines for seizure or corrosion after storage.
- Compare frame plate, fairing and exhaust with Jarno documentation; do not confuse it with the two-stroke twin 125 2C.
