About the Aprilia RS 50
The Aprilia RS 50 is a full-sized sports moped with an aluminium beam frame, full fairing and liquid-cooled 50 cc two-stroke. Generations used Minarelli AM6 and later Piaggio D50B0 engines, both with six-speed gearboxes and disc brakes. Styling closely follows Aprilia's larger RS race replicas.
The RS 50 appeals to young riders and collectors, but many examples have been derestricted, tuned or cheaply repaired after crashes. Verify cylinder capacity, exhaust, carburettor and legal registration. An original restricted bike is slow but usable; modified engines require more frequent piston, crankshaft and clutch servicing.
