The Suzuki DR-600 is a large single-cylinder trail-enduro produced by Suzuki from 1985 to 1989. The engine is a 589 cc SOHC four-stroke single with an oil cooler, producing around 33 kW (45 hp). In its day the DR-600 was one of the largest and most powerful singles on the market and served as the direct predecessor to the later DR-650. It is characterised by its long-travel suspension, high seat, and versatility on both tarmac and light off-road terrain.
The DR-600 suits riders looking for a rugged, mechanically simple machine for long-distance touring and mixed-terrain adventure. Upright ergonomics and a high saddle make it less suited to shorter riders. The riding character is gutsy and engaging, comparable to period rivals such as the Honda XL600 and Yamaha XT600.
