Years

V9 Euro 5 (2021–current)
GenerationThe Euro 5 update received a comprehensively revised 853cc engine with 65 hp and 73 Nm, plus LED lighting, ABS and traction control. Moto Guzzi offered a 35 kW A2 version; when buying used, verify the actual registration rather than relying on the model name alone.
Years
2016 - 2020
V9 first generation (2016–2020)
GenerationThe first V9 brought the 853cc air-cooled transverse V-twin back in a compact custom. Bobber and Roamer mainly differ in wheels, tyres and ergonomics; listings explicitly naming those trims belong to their own canonical families.
About the Moto Guzzi V 9
The Moto Guzzi V9 is a family of retro cruisers launched in 2016 to succeed the Nevada. The V9 is offered in two versions: the V9 Roamer, a roadster with rounded lines and leather panniers, and the V9 Bobber, a low-slung solo-seat bobber with wire-spoke wheels. Both share an 853cc air-cooled transverse 90-degree V-twin mounted in a steel tubular frame, driving through a six-speed gearbox and shaft drive. Power is around 55 hp at 6,250 rpm with peak torque of 62 Nm at 2,800 rpm, a low-rev delivery that emphasises rhythm and relaxed riding.

What to check before buying
- Check the shaft drive for oil seeping at the bevel housing and play in the universal joint.
- Verify charging voltage; regulator/rectifier issues have been reported on the 850cc V-twin generation.
- Inspect chrome details on the V9 Roamer (rim trim, mudguard stays) for corrosion, which is difficult to restore.
- Ask for service history: the oil change interval can be tight for short-trip riders, leading to faster soot contamination than the manual suggests.
