About the Kymco Sector 125
The Kymco Sector 125 is a light 125cc road motorcycle from the late-1990s to early-2000s period. It uses a simple single-cylinder engine, five-speed manual gearbox, upright riding position and 17-inch wheels. That puts it among the practical, affordable 125s from before the current generation of fuel-injected machines. Do not expect modern electronics or effortless motorway pace; condition and serviceability matter more than equipment.
It suits a new rider deliberately looking for a light, old-school 125 for short journeys, commuting and relaxed back-road use. On inspection, pay particular attention to carburation, wiring and brakes, as long storage is often more significant than mileage on a machine of this age. Compare it with period Honda CG/CB125 or Yamaha YBR models, but buy only a complete, demonstrably running example.

What to check before buying
- Check cold starting and throttle response; a dirty or poorly adjusted carburettor commonly causes hesitation.
- Inspect the tank, tap and carburettor for stale fuel, corrosion and leaks after storage.
- Check the wiring loom, charging voltage and every switch for corrosion and improvised repairs.
- Inspect brake disc, caliper and tyres for age; original parts may have sat unused for a long time.
