About the Gilera XRT 600
The Gilera XRT 600 is an older all-road with a large single and tall build. RDW proposals show a 558cc reference from 1990, but an individual motorcycle must always be assessed by frame number, engine code and equipment. Pay particular attention to correct, cared-for cooling, suspension and running gear.
The XRT 600 suits an experienced rider willing to maintain a characterful light adventure motorcycle. A longer test ride should steer stably, brake correctly and show no coolant or oil leaks. Service history matters more than cosmetics.

What to check before buying
- Check cold starting, oil level, leaks and mechanical noise and ask about oil, filter and valve-clearance service.
- Inspect radiator, hoses, water-pump area and fan operation for leaks, corrosion and overheating signs.
- Check forks, rear shock, steering-head bearings, brakes, chain set, spoked wheels and frame for leaks, play and off-road damage.
