BN 251 / TNT 25 (2015-2020)
GenerationThe BN 251 is the liquid-cooled 249 cc single-cylinder naked with a six-speed gearbox. Check the type data for BN 251 or TNT 25; this row does not apply to the heavier twin-cylinder BN 302 or later differently specified 250 models.
About the Benelli BN 251
The Benelli BN 251 is a light naked bike with a liquid-cooled 249 cc single, double overhead camshafts, four valves and six gears. It is also related to the TNT 25/TNT 251 name in other markets, but must not be confused with the twin-cylinder BN 302. With roughly 19 kW and a dry mass around 143 kg, it is aimed at accessible A2 riding in town, commuting and on smaller twisty roads.
It is a straightforward, conventional 250 that benefits most from documented routine maintenance. On a used BN 251, check coolant, oil and valve service, chain set, charging voltage and every light and switch. Verify through the VIN and registration whether it is a BN 251, TNT 25 or market-specific version before ordering parts; the name alone is not enough for compatibility.

What to check before buying
- Check invoices for oil, coolant and valve work, then test cold starting, idle quality and the fan at temperature.
- Inspect chain, sprockets, rear-wheel alignment and clutch for wear or inconsistent operation.
- Measure charging voltage and inspect the battery, earths, handlebar wiring and switches for corrosion or accessories.
- Check brake discs, pads, fork legs and steering head for wear or low-speed-drop damage.
- Compare the VIN and type plate with the registration before ordering parts: BN 251, TNT 25 and regional versions can differ.
